      Jai Tutor is an offline-first language learning app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
    

1. Information We Collect

Jai Tutor collects minimal data to provide its language learning features:

Learning progress — your completed lessons, level, and selected language pair, stored locally on your device.
App preferences — interface language (Russian/Ukrainian), TTS speed, and other settings, stored locally on your device.
Purchase information — subscription status is verified through Google Play. We do not store payment card details.

2. Microphone Access

Jai Tutor requests microphone access solely to enable speech recognition for language learning exercises. Audio is processed on-device using our offline speech recognition model (Whisper Base). We do not record, store, or transmit your voice data to any server.

3. Data Storage

All learning data, preferences, and progress are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SQLite and SharedPreferences). We do not operate servers that store personal user data.

4. Over-the-Air Content Updates

The app downloads content database updates from Cloudflare R2 (our content delivery network). These requests do not include any personal information — only the current database version number is sent to check for updates.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Play Billing — for processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare R2 — for content delivery. No personal data is transmitted.

6. Children's Privacy

Jai Tutor is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on our end. All your data resides on your device and is fully under your control.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
